Enniscrone's newest acheivement

The Blue Flag was restored to Enniscrone after 4 year of waiting and it was not in vain. It was accompanied by the Green Beach Award, both of which are the An Taisce seal of approval of the community effort to successfully demonstrate excellent water quality, required infrastructure which includes beach guard and traffic management and sanitary services.

On Wednesday 22nd June at 4.00pm, councillor Joe Leonard, chairman of Sligo County Council presented the flag to david tuffy, chairman of Enniscrone & District Community Development & the green beach award to Maura Harnett and Liam Tuffy of Coastcare Enniscrone.

Mr. Leonard emphasised the broad community effort that such a recognised award required to gain it and the commitment required to maintain it.

Many Congratulations to Enniscrone Beach for obtaining this award and the volunteers that helped make our beach as beautiful as possible.
